We always look forward to celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge in our school each year. Throughout the week, pupils have many opportunities to use and enjoy Gaeilge in a fun, active, and engaging way across the school day.

Children take part in a variety of activities including cluichí, quizzes, music, dance, storytelling, and P.E. as Gaeilge. Classes also incorporate more Gaeilge into daily routines and Morning Meetings, helping to build confidence and enjoyment in using the language.

A highlight of the week is our whole-school céilí, with Niamhmarie Attridge from Attridge Academy of Irish Dance, when pupils come together to enjoy Irish music and dancing. They are also treated to a performance from some of the wonderful Attridge Academy dancers.

This year, we did an online workshop to learn to song Oró Sé do Bheatha Bhaile, which came in handy for 3rd to 6th class, when John Spillane came to perform for the girls.

Seachtain na Gaeilge is a wonderful opportunity to promote Irish culture, language, and community spirit while creating positive and enjoyable experiences for all pupils.
